The Puntland Democratic Party (Pdp) has officially announced a serious cybersecurity incident involving the unauthorized access and takeover of the TikTok account belonging to Hon. Huda Salah Omar (Huda Amun), Chairperson of the Party’s Youth Wing.
According to official party sources, the account was unlawfully accessed and critical security information was altered without authorization, resulting in the rightful owner being completely locked out of the account.
The Party described the incident as a serious violation of digital security, posing risks to personal reputation, online safety, and the integrity of social media platforms.
The public is also being advised to exercise caution and remain vigilant, particularly regarding:
- Fake or impersonated accounts that may operate using the compromised profile
- Offensive, misleading, or defamatory content potentially circulated from unauthorized access
- False reporting campaigns targeting official accounts
- Any information not released through verified official channels
Members of the public are strongly urged to rely only on verified official sources and avoid sharing unverified or misleading content.
Finally, the Puntland Democratic Party (Pdp) calls on the TikTok Trust & Safety Team to urgently investigate the incident, preserve all relevant security data (including logs, IP addresses, and device history), restore rightful access to the account, and prevent any further unauthorized use or coordinated abuse of the platform’s reporting system.
